Family renewal of NEXUS cards is a combined family application package, which will considerably facilitate your renewal. We strongly advise you to start your renewal process up to 12 months before the expiration date. The reason of this is that you and your family will be able to benefit from your current NEXUS card up to 24 months after its expiration date. In order to start the process of NEXUS family card renewal, simply follow these easy steps.
All children under 18 are relieved from all fees for the NEXUS program under the condition that they apply with at least one paying adult.
NOTE: You can use the renewal opportunity as a family using the family application if you don’t have any children (skip the children-related fields). The procedure for obtaining/renewing your NEXUS card is the same if you’re applying with children under the age of 18 and if you’re applying without any children.
How to Renew NEXUS Cards as a Family?
To start your NEXUS family renewal application process with us, simply follow these three steps:
- Step 1: Click on the “Pay Now” button and select a payment option to pay the service fee ($125.99USD per adult) according to number of applicants.
- Step 2: Click on the “Print Application” button and download the NEXUS family renewal application form. Before you start completing the NEXUS card family renewal application, please make sure to first download it to your desktop or another device. Once you’ve downloaded it you can start filling it out. Save the completed form by choosing File > Save As and picking a location for your PDF, enter a new name (optional), and then tap Save.

The fee for family renewal of the NEXUS card costs 125.99USD (per adult) in addition to $120USD government fee (per adult) for background and security examinations and checks. If you are ready to make the payment for the service fee for a family with more than one adult, we invite you to use the available payment options. The payment for the $120USD CBP fee (per adult) will be made using the credit card provided on your NEXUS family renewal application form.
NEXUS Family Renewal Next Steps
Once we receive your application pack and payment for your family’s NEXUS renewal, we will have one of our experienced and qualified agents process your file within 48 hours. You will be informed about the status of your application and will receive a confirmation email from us that your NEXUS profile information has been updated in the TTP system, based on your family renewal application form. We remain available at time and you can get in touch to ask about any status updates and make interview scheduling requests.
Each family member in the submitted documents will be with a renewal status of “Pending Review”. This is a proof that your NEXUS family renewal application has been submitted to the authorities (CBP) and is under processing.
We will send you an email as soon as your membership status changes. The email will invite you to login to your TTP account where you will see whether the renewal application is approved or whether another interview is mandatory. While the system does automatically email you, keep in mind to check both your SPAM or JUNK folders. We have no control over that. That’s why we recommend you log into your TTP account in order to check for updates.
When renewing your NEXUS card, another interview may be necessary. This depends on the inspection center and the determination cannot be appealed. If you are conditionally approved, you will be asked to arrange an interview within 730 days of receiving your conditional approval, otherwise your application will be canceled. You can contact us any time with status updates and interview scheduling inquiries.
Keep in mind that we cannot guarantee your NEXUS card program renewal. You may be denied in case you have a criminal record, an immigration violation or you have included false information on your NEXUS card application form.

This service fee $125.99USD (per adult) is payable to Trusted Traveler Ltd for checking your family renewal application form, setting up your NEXUS profiles, submitting your NEXUS renewal family application to CBP for background and security checks and arranging your family interview. It also includes status updates and activation of your new NEXUS cards.
Once your NEXUS family renewal application is finalized at the TTP system, you will be asked to make a payment for the $120USD (per adult) CBP fee for conducting background and security checks as well. The $120USD CBP fee for background and security checks will be withdrawn directly from the credit card you provided on your family application form.
