Renew your NEXUS Card

For those of you who need to renew your NEXUS card, the best solution is to start the renewal process 12 months before the card’s expiration date. The benefit of a timely renewal is that you will have the ability to use your current NEXUS card up to 2 year after its expiration date. In this case, even if you cannot schedule a timely interview (if necessary) or get an approval before your card expires, you are still covered for your trip. For this reason, it is highly advisable to start your renewal on time.

What comes next in the process of my NEXUS renewal application?

The status of your renewal application will be in “Pending Review”. In other words, your application was received by the CBP and is being reviewed. It is possible that it could take between 2 and 6 months to get approval or conditional approval on your eligibility as a trusted traveler. Speeding up the vetting process is not possible. You will receive an email immediately after your NEXUS renewal application status changes.

There are two possibilities after this point:

– You can receive direct approval – you can use the NEXUS program as soon as you receive your card by mail within 2-3 weeks and activate it.

– You can receive conditional approval – you will be instructed to organize your interview at the enrollment center that you find most convenient to visit. Not that if you fail to meet the instructions and scheduling an interview after more than 730 days, you might be subject to both a lengthy process and additional fees. Your card will be sent in the mail and you’ll have the ability to use it straight after activation.

– If you wish to gain access to your TTP account, we can send your TTP login and instructions over email, along with details on how to access your TTP profile and keep track of the status of your application. We must note that given that we provide you with login details, and you change/lose your email or password, we will not be capable of providing you with status updates, organizing your interview or activating your card. You take the responsibility of doing all this yourself from your profile online.

– We must note that we are also incapable of guaranteeing that you will be approved for a NEXUS card program. You may be denied in case you have a criminal record, an immigration violation or you provided false information on your NEXUS card application form.
